      US Stock Indices Close Lower, Nasdaq 100 Posts Small Gain

      The broader US stock indices experienced a decline on the trading day, with the S&P 500 falling by 0.33% and the Nasdaq Composite decreasing by 0.12%. The Dow Industrial Average was the worst performer, dropping 374.02 points or 0.70%, closing at 53,191.33. Major contributors to the Dow's decline included Amazon, Honeywell, and Sherwin Williams, which saw losses of 2.50%, 1.79%, and 1.73%, respectively.

      In contrast, the Nasdaq 100 managed to close slightly higher, gaining 23.55 points or 0.08%, finishing at 29,456.97. Notable gainers in the market included Roblox, which rose by 7.16%, CrowdStrike with a 5.77% increase, and Tesla, which climbed 5.51%. Other significant performers included SanDisk and MicroStrategy, both of which also posted gains.

      On the downside, several stocks faced notable losses, including Celsius, which fell by 4.64%, Lyft down 4.52%, and Wynn Resorts decreasing by 4.18%. Alibaba and Uber Technologies also saw declines of 4.10% and 4.02%, respectively. The Russell 2000 index also closed lower, down 15.92 points or 0.54%, at 2,956.45.
