Polymarket Taps Former Amazon CFO Warren Jenson in Major Executive Move
Key Highlights
- Warren Jenson joins Polymarket in newly created CFO position
- Jenson’s resume includes CFO roles at Amazon, Delta Air Lines, NBC, and Electronic Arts
- Strategic appointment coincides with development of CFTC-regulated U.S. platform
- Recent $1 billion fundraise values the company at approximately $21 billion
- 1789 Capital, featuring Donald Trump Jr. as partner, contributes $300 million investment
Polymarket announced Thursday the appointment of Warren Jenson to the newly established role of chief financial officer, marking a significant milestone for the prediction markets platform.
The new hire brings decades of financial leadership experience to Polymarket. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Jenson held CFO positions at major corporations including Amazon, NBC, Delta Air Lines, and Electronic Arts.
Jenson’s most recent position was president and CFO at Nielsen, a role he departed in January 2025. Prior to Nielsen, he dedicated more than four years to LiveRamp as president and CFO of the data platform. His current board memberships include Ripple, Dropbox, and DigitalOcean.
In his new capacity, Jenson will answer directly to Polymarket’s founder and CEO, Shayne Coplan. His responsibilities will encompass finance operations, capital allocation strategy, and strategic planning initiatives.
“Warren has led finance at some of the most consequential companies in the world, and his experience will be critical to everything we build from here,” Coplan said.
Expanding Regulated U.S. Operations
This executive appointment arrives during a pivotal period for the prediction markets platform. Polymarket is actively developing its CFTC-regulated exchange to serve U.S. customers.
Following a 2022 settlement with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the platform was required to restrict access for American users. The company has since been working to reestablish its U.S. presence through proper regulatory channels.
Earlier this summer, Polymarket also recruited Travis VanderZanden, a scooter-sharing company founder, as chief growth officer. According to Coplan, these executive additions represent strategic preparation for the company’s next growth chapter.
“We’re assembling the team to match the opportunity in front of us,” Coplan said.
The platform enables users to speculate on real-world event outcomes using USDC stablecoin. All transactions are processed and finalized on the Polygon blockchain network.
Investment Landscape and Market Rivals
Following its latest $1 billion capital raise, Polymarket commands a valuation near $21 billion.
Among the investors, 1789 Capital—where Donald Trump Jr. serves as partner—is contributing approximately $300 million. Intercontinental Exchange has also disclosed a $1.6 billion equity position.
Additionally, the platform maintains a data collaboration agreement with Dow Jones, the media company behind The Wall Street Journal.
Competition in the prediction markets sector continues intensifying. Key competitors include Kalshi, alongside recent market entrants Robinhood and DraftKings.
The platform gained widespread recognition during the 2024 presidential election cycle. Following that success, it has diversified into sports betting markets.
Despite its growth, the company has encountered regulatory scrutiny. Members of the U.S. Senate have requested federal investigations into the platform’s promotional tactics, particularly social media campaigns that critics alleged promoted fabricated betting activity.
Jenson expressed enthusiasm about the appointment. “Polymarket created a massive new global market category,” he said. “I’m joining Shayne and the leadership team to put the capital strategy and operating discipline in place to move quickly at scale.”
