US Dollar Mixed as Stock Futures Point to Higher Open

The US dollar exhibited mixed performance at the start of the trading day, with notable movements in currency pairs. The USDJPY rose by 0.13%, while the dollar weakened against the Australian and New Zealand dollars. It remained stronger against the euro, Japanese yen, British pound, Swiss franc, and Canadian dollar. Trading ranges across major currency pairs were tight, with EURUSD at 22 pips and USDJPY at 42 pips, indicating limited volatility as North American traders began their day.

US stock futures indicated a positive opening, with the Dow industrial average futures up by 236 points, S&P index futures rising by 24.39 points, and Nasdaq 100 futures increasing by 253 points. European stock indices also showed gains, with the German DAX up by 0.80% and France’s CAC rising by 0.33%.

In commodities, crude oil prices fell sharply by $2.86, or 3.37%, settling at $82.13, as market sentiment shifted following constructive diplomatic discussions between Pakistan and Iran. This decline in oil prices contributed to lower Treasury yields, easing inflation concerns. The yield curve reflected this trend, with 2-year yields at 4.2166%, down 1.9 basis points, and 10-year yields at 4.6644%, down 4.0 basis points.
