Palantir Technologies Inc., PLTR
Following a peak of $182.53 on September 3, the stock retreated to settle at $174.33 on September 4. Due to the Labor Day holiday closure of U.S. exchanges on Monday, $174.33 represents the latest available closing figure.
The August surge was primarily triggered by impressive second-quarter financial results. The company delivered $1.94 billion in revenue, marking a 93% year-over-year jump and surpassing the analyst consensus of $1.81 billion. Earnings per share registered at $0.41, exceeding expectations of $0.34 by $0.07.
U.S. commercial revenue proved particularly impressive, skyrocketing 149% year over year to reach $764 million. Throughout the quarter, Palantir secured 220 contracts valued at $1 million or higher, with 73 of those deals exceeding $10 million in value.

Strategic Partnerships Drive Momentum
Palantir elevated its fiscal 2026 revenue projection to $8.15 billion, signaling approximately 82% growth expectations. This upward revision provided additional momentum for investor confidence throughout August.
Early September brought two significant developments. Palantir announced an expanded collaboration with PwC US, developing an artificial intelligence platform designed to accelerate deal execution and merger activities through Palantir’s Foundry and AIP technologies. This platform aims to slash transaction timelines by up to 50% while reducing one-time deal expenses by as much as 45%.
Simultaneously, Palantir secured a production agreement with the U.S. Army to supply eight TITAN tactical intelligence systems, with the contract valued at approximately $192 million. These PwC and Army announcements propelled PLTR roughly 8% higher on September 4 before experiencing a minor pullback.
Valuation Metrics and Wall Street Sentiment
The shares currently command a price-to-earnings multiple of 149, with market capitalization exceeding $418 billion. This elevated valuation has prompted some caution among analysts and market participants monitoring for potential growth deceleration.
Michael Burry has reiterated bearish perspectives on the stock, while Google’s expanding presence in government AI solutions may introduce competitive challenges to Palantir’s public-sector operations. Company insiders have divested $117 million in shares over the trailing 90 days, including a notable transaction by CEO Alexander Karp on August 20.
