Humain quadruples data centre capacity with MIS deal

Humain, the Public Investment Fund’s artificial intelligence company, has awarded contracts which will quadruple its data centre capacity.

Saudi-listed Al Moammar Information Systems Company (MIS) will build centres with 200MW of capacity, in addition to ongoing work on a 50MW project.

The data centres will be developed in phases, with engineering, procurement and construction work starting soon. The contracts are expected to be signed within two weeks, MIS said in a statement.

The deal’s value was not disclosed, but MIS said it exceeds 689 percent of its total 2025 revenue of SAR1.3 billion.

Humain said on Wednesday that it will collaborate with Microsoft to make its Allam large language model available to customers.

Earlier this month the consultancy Alvarez & Marsal said Saudi Arabia’s AI and cloud expansion would require up to $42 billion in project capital by 2030, including $32 billion of debt, if around half of its announced data centre capacity is delivered.

The kingdom’s installed data centre capacity is forecast to rise from 410MW to 1GW by 2030 under A&M’s base case.
