Bitcoin Price Declines Amidst Resistance and Economic Pressures

The price of Bitcoin has decreased by $1,300, or 1.64%, currently trading at $77,012. This decline follows a failed attempt by buyers to push the price above key resistance levels, specifically around $82,281, which was reached last Friday. The resistance zone, identified between $80,560 and $82,833, proved too strong, leading sellers to regain control after the price fell below the 100-bar moving average on the four-hour chart, now set at $78,850.

Technical analysis indicates that for buyers to regain momentum, they must hold the lower swing area between $74,262 and $76,977, and reclaim the 100-bar moving average. A failure to do so could lead to further declines, with the next significant support level being the rising 200-bar moving average near $73,275. Conversely, sellers aim to maintain pressure below the 100-bar moving average and push through the lower swing area to solidify their control.

Several economic factors are contributing to the downward trend in Bitcoin's price. Elevated U.S. producer prices have raised concerns about persistent inflation, while rising Treasury yields, which have approached 4.90%, make risk-free assets more appealing. Additionally, a stronger U.S. dollar, which negatively impacts Bitcoin priced in dollars, and reduced expectations for easier monetary policy from the Federal Reserve are further complicating the market. Recent geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and rising oil prices have also heightened inflation risks, prompting a shift away from speculative assets like Bitcoin. Furthermore, approximately $246 million in cryptocurrency positions were liquidated in the past 24 hours, exacerbating the price decline as leveraged positions were forced to sell.
