Stellantis and Microsoft Launch Five-Year AI Collaboration

Stellantis and Microsoft have announced a new five-year partnership aimed at advancing artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and engineering capabilities as part of Stellantis' digital transformation strategy. The collaboration will focus on over 100 AI initiatives that will enhance customer care, product development, and operational efficiency, including AI-assisted validation and predictive maintenance.

As part of the agreement, Stellantis plans to transition its systems to Microsoft Azure and aims to reduce its data center size by 60% by the end of 2029. Additionally, the automaker will implement Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Chat for its employees to improve productivity and collaboration.

The partnership will also establish joint teams that will utilize AI-driven cyber defense mechanisms to safeguard connected vehicles, factory networks, IT systems, and digital products. This expanded collaboration builds on previous efforts related to connected vehicle platforms, particularly in light of increasing competition from Chinese automotive companies. No financial details regarding the partnership have been disclosed.
