EURUSD Reaches New Session Highs Amid Easing Geopolitical Tensions

The EURUSD currency pair has reached new session highs, buoyed by declining oil prices and a reduction in geopolitical tensions. Recent developments in the Middle East have contributed positively to market sentiment, particularly following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's indication of a diplomatic shift. Netanyahu has instructed his cabinet to prioritize discussions on disarming Hezbollah and exploring normalization talks with Lebanon, which aligns with calls for restraint in military actions from former U.S. President Donald Trump as negotiations with Iran progress.

From a technical standpoint, the EURUSD has regained a significant cluster of levels, moving above the 50% midpoint of the decline from the February 10 high at 1.1667, as well as the 200-day moving average at 1.16718 and the 100-day moving average at 1.16862. Earlier in the U.S. trading session, an initial attempt to break above this zone was unsuccessful, prompting a retreat toward the 200-day moving average. However, renewed momentum, influenced by the changing geopolitical landscape, has allowed the pair to surpass this critical area once again.

This cluster of support now serves as a pivotal point for buyers. Maintaining a position above these levels is essential for sustaining a bullish outlook, while a drop below could shift momentum back to sellers. On the upside, the next target for the EURUSD is identified between 1.17265 and 1.17414, with a potential breakout above this range leading to further gains toward the swing area between 1.1765 and 1.1778.
