Shares of Dell Technologies advanced 4.3% during Wednesday’s morning session, settling at $556.85 while establishing a new 52-week peak of $558.50. The upward movement coincides with CEO Michael Dell’s upcoming presentation at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference, scheduled for 12:25 PM PDT.
Investors are keenly awaiting Dell’s executive commentary regarding the company’s artificial intelligence infrastructure business, which has been the primary catalyst behind the stock’s impressive performance throughout the year.
The conference slot arrives on the heels of exceptional quarterly results unveiled September 1. The technology giant delivered second-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue totaling $47.0 billion, representing a remarkable 58% year-over-year increase. AI-specific revenue reached $16.4 billion, while AI-related order intake hit $60.9 billion for the period.
Management disclosed a substantial $95 billion AI order backlog, prompting executives to elevate their full-year outlook to 69% revenue expansion and a 148% surge in adjusted earnings per share to $25.50.
The stellar earnings performance sparked multiple Wall Street upgrades. Financial institutions including Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, and Citigroup each increased their respective price objectives following the quarterly disclosure.
Wednesday morning saw Evercore take an even more aggressive stance, elevating its price target from $575 to $650 while reaffirming DELL as a preferred investment.
Evercore’s Investment Thesis
Analyst Amit Daryanani identified four fundamental drivers supporting his bullish outlook: accelerating neocloud infrastructure deployments, nascent enterprise artificial intelligence adoption cycles, competitive supply chain positioning enabling Dell to capture market share, and strategic capital management.
Daryanani believes consensus FY27 earnings estimates near $25.88 are conservative and achievable, with upside scenarios exceeding $30 per share. His analysis projects FY28 earnings potential above $40 compared to current Street expectations around $31, suggesting a valuation scenario supporting $1,000 per share when applying a 25x earnings multiple.
Recent Insider Transaction Activity
Not all signals point uniformly bullish. Silver Lake Partners IV liquidated roughly $38.2 million in Dell Class C Common Stock on September 3, 2026. Combined Silver Lake entity transactions exceeded $160 million near recent price peaks.
Despite these insider sales, the stock continues gaining ground. DELL is significantly outperforming broader indices today, with the S&P 500 declining 0.3%, the Dow Jones dropping 0.6%, and the Nasdaq falling 0.4%.
Dell currently commands a valuation of approximately 19 times forward earnings estimates. Additional Buy recommendations emerged in analyst coverage released September 8 and 9, sustaining institutional interest ahead of today’s investor conference.
