BTG Pactual makes senior performing credit hires
BTG Pactual Global Alternatives has expanded its performing credit business with the addition of two senior executives, as the firm’s $10.9bn alternatives arm continues to scale its credit investment capabilities across developed markets.
The firm has appointed Vincent Ingato as senior portfolio manager and Brian O’Leary as co-head of research within its performing credit platform, reinforcing a team that has been steadily built out over the past year. The hires follow the appointment of Chris Allen as head of performing credit in late 2025.
Ingato brings more than 30 years of experience across leveraged finance and collateralised loan obligation (CLO) portfolio management. He has previously held senior roles at Jefferies Credit Partners, ZAIS Group and CVC Credit Partners. In his new position, he will oversee portfolio construction and management across CLO strategies, as well as lead US loan trading and execution.
O’Leary joins from ZAIS Group, where he spent over a decade as managing director in leveraged finance. He has also held senior positions at Credit Industriel et Commercial (CIC) and Fuji Bank. As co-head of research, he will be responsible for leading fundamental credit analysis and shaping the firm’s research process across performing credit investments.
Both executives will sit on the platform’s investment committee, contributing to decisions around portfolio construction, risk management and investment strategy.
Chris Allen, head of performing credit at BTG Pactual Global Alternatives, said the appointments strengthen the platform’s expertise across credit markets and support its ambition to build a scaled CLO business. He highlighted the importance of combining experienced portfolio management with integrated research capabilities, supported by BTG Pactual’s broader infrastructure.
Gerrity Lansing, head of BTG Pactual Global Alternatives, said the hires mark an important step in the expansion of the firm’s credit platform and reflect its focus on building institutional-scale investment capabilities across global private markets.
BTG Pactual Global Alternatives manages a range of alternative strategies across the US and Latin America, including private credit, private equity and real assets. The firm focuses on institutional investors globally, with strategies spanning senior secured lending and other performing credit markets.
